Pitchfork Redux 2: Animal Collective put on their Summertime Clothes

It was one of the most friendly quirky crowds I’ve ever encountered at a show. There’s a certain camaraderie between fans at an outdoor show. People kept freaking out about the show as the stage trappings went up slowly before the show. Giant projection screens, paper crystals with lights inside. But to my disappointment the stage performance by Avey Tare, Geologist, and Deakin didn’t match the costumed stage. I had two problems with the show:
1. There was no stage movement or interaction between the members. Each artist stayed behind his bench of effects pedals the entire show.
2. They only played a couple songs from Merriweather Post Pavilion. Consequently this was also my favorite part of the show. Keep in mind both 1 and 2 are purely my own bias view of the show.

The last fifteen minutes of the show was the only part I enjoyed. ‘Summertime Clothes’ rocked everyone in the park. Watch it here. I was actually just a few feet behind the guy who uploaded this.

Word.
