This evening Phresh in da Phorest went obscure with the following them: “Weird Songs to Which Miss Cleo Grew Up Knowing All the Words (Though She Does Not Understand Them).” That’s right, we heard from Led Zeppelin and the Cure, but most importantly, we heard Laurie Anderson’s “Oh Superman” off the album Big Science (1982).
Miss Cleo heard this song throughout her childhood and only discovered Laurie Anderson’s role in the art world this semester in her contemporary art history course. Turns out Cleo isn’t the only one who digs that song! In fact, Laurie Anderson is married to Lou Reed! Crazy, right?
This magical couple inspired her to create a plan for a hypothetical party–a bash for the coolest celebrity couples out there. Guest list includes Bjork and Matthew Barney, David Bowie and Iman, Heidi Klum and Seal, Brangelina, Will Arnett and Amy Poehler, and Ellen and Portia de Rossi. Plus any other cool, weird, and sexy famous couples.
Can’t wait to form the party-planning committee.
