Hey everyone! DJ Tayb here, basically just doing a quick test post here, but also taking the time to shamelessly promote myself here on our beautiful, all new and improved WMXM site.
First, and most importantly, please listen to my show! It’s every Monday from 9 to 11 p.m. (US Central Time), and I like to think that I have a little bit of something for everybody. I mostly stick to the extremely broad and almost all-encompassing genre known as “stoner rock” and it’s many variations, but I also like to dabble in the funk (of the P-funk variety) and lately even a little bit of electronic stuff here and there. If any of that sounds good to you (hopefully it does), then check out my show! Plus I fill in the gaps between each song with silly banter, so there really isn’t any excuse for you to not be listening regularly 🙂
Secondly, I play bass in a little band called Cohda, and I would be way stoked if you checked us out!

OK, just one last thing…I’m going to start doing a little feature that I’m going to call “Tayb’s Jam of the Week”, where I will post one song that I have stuck in my head the most during the week, and I will say a little bit about the band or the song and why I am digging it so much! Pretty straightforward, and it’s a good way to get a better idea of what kind of music I am listening to, in real time! So with that being said, my very first jam of the week comes all the way from Romania! It’s a fantastic instrumental, rockin’ jam band called The Egocentrics, and the song is called “The Unknown Sings”, which is off of their new album Center of the Cyclone. This band is pretty fresh on the scene, having just emerged in 2009, but they have got some serious musical chops, and you can tell they really know how to kick out the jams! My kind of music, for sure. Click the link to hear it!
Alright, that’s it! I have to go accept my award for Longest Blog Post Ever now.
